“We believe in providing training options allowing technicians to be appropriately educated on diagnostic ultrasound fundamentals, preventive maintenance and technology,” said William Gulley, Executive Director of Axess Ultrasound. “Being able to provide onsite, regional and now online training allows us to expand the market for educating technicians.”
The first three courses offered through the online training are Basic Ultrasound, iU22/iE33 PM and Sequoia PM. Basic Ultrasound is a holistic and functional course providing a fundamental understanding of ultrasound. From learning the terminology to understanding the physics of the technology, this course allows the learner to comprehend the basics and operating theory behind diagnostic ultrasound. The course is not only appropriate for biomedical technicians but also other disciplines such as nursing and administrators.
The Preventative Maintenance courses provide step-by-step instructions for biomedical technicians who perform semi-annual planned maintenance checks on the Philips iU22 and iE33 and Siemens Acuson Sequoia Ultrasound Systems. Biomedical technicians will learn how to ensure the equipment is clean and properly functioning.
“Some ultrasound training requires onsite training where technicians can participate in hands-on learning while other preventive and fundamental training can be completed online. Online training offers convenience and cost savings by eliminating the need for travel and allowing technicians to complete the course at their convenience,” said Gulley.
Online training courses are taken at the learner’s convenience over a two week period and require approximately one hour to complete the entire course. Axess provides a certificate of training at the successful completion of each course. In addition to online training, Axess offers multi-day onsite or regional training courses providing hands-on learning for troubleshooting, repairs and replacement.
“Whether choosing onsite, online or regional courses, training not only keeps technicians in regulatory compliance, but will also reduce costly maintenance and repair service calls,” added Gulley.
