Lynchburg, VA – There a push going on right now to get a mobile ultrasound unit in our area that could go to you instead of you going to the doctor’s office.

The Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center is trying to raise $175,000 for the unit.

Women would take a pregnancy test in the bathroom, and then they’d get an ultrasound with a trained professional. The center says there is a big need for this kind of thing.

“A lot of times women are in fear when they have an unplanned pregnancy, and our clients range in age from 11 to 54 was our oldest pregnancy test, but it’s very important for women to be fully informed,” said Lori Meetre, the center’s executive director.

There will be a test mobile unit making stops in Lynchburg this week. You can check it out or make donations at these locations:

      Tuesday: Grace Church on Timberlake Road, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Wednesday: Lynchburg First Church of the Nazarene, 9 a.m. -1 p.m.
