CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska — Warnings about heart disease are constant and prominent, however they are still ignored a great deal of the time with the thought of being tested seeming time consuming, excessive and expensive. Therefore many, especially those who are a bit younger, continue to place this crucial aspect of their health and wellbeing on the back burner.

Armed with this knowledge, Tri Valley Health System is making it easier for testing to be done with a fast and affordable way for southwest Nebraskan’s and northwest Kansan’s to check their heart health. On Thursday, May 31 and Friday, June 1, Tri Valley Health System will host BryanLGH’s Mobile Screening Services offering Ejection Fraction Echo Screening, Carotid Artery Ultrasound Screening, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening and Peripheral Arterial Artery (PAD) Screening on the campus of Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Preparations for these exams include wearing a button up shirt for the Ejection Fraction and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screenings to offer more convenience; also, those receiving the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening need to fast for 4 hours prior to their appointment with the exception of taking usual medications with a sip of water.

Anyone interested in receiving these tests may call Tri Valley Health System Central Scheduling at 308-697-1172. The cost for the testing is only $40 for the Ejection Fraction, Carotid Artery Ultrasound, and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screenings and just $20 for the Peripheral Arterial Artery Screening. Payment must be made at the time of the appointment with either cash or checks made payable to BryanLGH Medical Center.
